The Nigerian Army says it does not have in its possession the original or copies of the credentials of the presidential candidate of the APC, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. Emir of Kano, Sanusi, denies planning to marry 17 year old girl

Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi has denied reports that he's planning to marry the 17 year old daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa. The Emir, who already has three wives, denied the report to Sahara Reporters via one of his aides.
The Emir said "that he fully supports the right of children not to get forcibly married before attaining the constitutionally stipulated age of 18 years" but he didn't rule out the possibility of marrying a fourth wife. He advised people to wait to see the real age of his wife if he decides to marry again.

Boko Haram seize military base in Borno state

Members of Boko Haram sect have reportedly seized Baga town and a military base used by a multinational force to fight the terror group in Baga town in Borno state. According to BBC Africa, Senator Ali Ndume who represents Borno North at the National assembly said the sect members captured the town after attacking the residents yesterday Saturday January 3rd and that Nigerian troops fled the scene during the attack. Residents of the community who fled by boat to neighboring Chad, said many people were killed and the town set ablaze.
