'I built my N110m house on mortgage' - Dr. Sid reveals

Onoriode Esiri aka Dr Sid in an interview with Punch today to promote his new album revealed that the house he recently built and currently lives in was bought on mortgage and he is not ashamed to say it. He says its a N110million house and he pays his mortgage monthly "I put a mortgage payment plan in place, based on the savings I had made four years before I started a career in music. I am still paying for the house. And by the grace of God, I will get a second one soon. I pay close to N1m a month and sometimes, more. I am going to do this for the next 25 years and I am not ashamed to say it,” he said. Continue..In the interview he praised Wande Coal for leaving Mavin Records but expressed his distatste at the habit of some artists leaving a record label and later talking bad about the label.
"I am happy and honoured to be signed onto Mavin Records. I have a lot of respect for Wande Coal. He made a brave move and I wish him all the best. But I will not support anyone bad mouthing the label. With regards to Mavin Records deal, Don Jazzy has given me the opportunity to leave whenever I want to, but I won’t leave and start saying something else.” With his wedding taking place in July, Dr Sid talked about his fiancee, Simisola Osomo "She understands what she is getting into. My female fans respect me and I also feel my relationship inspires them in different ways. So I guess that from lust and attraction it has moved to admiration,”

14year-old child-bride charged with killing husband, 3 others in Kano

Wasila Tasi’u, the 14 year old bride who killedher 35 year husband Umar Sani, and three others in Kademi village in Gaya Local Government Area in Kano has been charged with murder. She was charged today April 14th before a Rijiyar Zaki Magistrates Court in Kano for alleged culpable homicide. The prosecutor, Inspector Yusuf Sale, while testifying before the Magistrate, Binta Muhammad, said the accused killed her husband and three others with food mixed with local rat poison. Sale said her husband and the three others died on the spot while six others who ate the meal fell ill immediately and were rushed to General Hospital Gaya, but were later treated and discharged.
The girl however pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison on the order of Magistrate Binta.

Nyanya bomb blast: At least 71 dead, 124 injured - police say

According to Police Spokesman Mr Frank Mba, at least 71 people lost their lives today while 124 people were injured after a bomb blast at Nyanya motor park this morning. The injured ones are receiving treatment at eight different local hospitals, security agents say. "So far, we have a total of 71 persons dead and 124 others injured and they are all, receiving treatments at various hospitals in and around FCT metropolis,” Mr. Mba said.The police spokesman also said 16 luxury buses and 24 other cars were destroyed in the blast Meanwhile security agencies have advised the public in the FCT to avoid unnecessary huge crowds, and be security conscious at all times. They also warned people to keep off the bomb explosion scene
